October, 2002 was History Month!

Participating members held a series of special events to celebrate History Month. Events were scheduled within a particular region of Santa Clara County each weekend to provide for convenient attendance. Times and dates given below are for History Month observations. Gilroy Museum: Discover the life and times of early Gilroy aviator Robert Fowler, the first man to complete a transcontinental flight.

Morgan Hill Historical Society & Museum: Special display and photos of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team of Japanese-American soldiers of WWII.
10 am - 4 pm

Wings of History Air Museum: All day festival. Free airplane rides for kids 8 to 17. Enjoy displays of vintage aircraft including an exact replica of the 1903 Wright Flyer. Also engines & memorabilia. Breakfast and lunch - 8 am to 3 pm.

Cupertino Historical Museum: Visit the exhibit Education in Cupertino, 1860 - 1960: The Perfection of Potentiality

Los Altos History Museum: Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city's incorporation with a special exhibit and vintage car display.

Museum of American Heritage (MOAH): MOAH From the Garage: Sale of antique items, many duplicates from MOAH collection.
Exhibit: Toys, Trains and Treasures
9 am - 1 pm

Palo Alto HIstorical Association (PAHA): Walking tour of Roth Building, possibly the future home of the Palo Alto History Museum. Birge Clark architecture, Victor Arnautoff murals. Learn about plans for surrounding SOFA area. Drawing for Palo Alto Centennial History book.
Meet at Roth Building patio, 300 Homer Avenue (near Museum of American Heritage).
